VR Game - HTC Vive, LEAP Motion, Arduino
In this project we aimed to explore new ways of interaction in VR games. Therefore we build a simple Arduino prototype for the interaction with RFID tags. The implementation of this prototype is available on Bitbucket. After establishing the basic communication between the Arduino RFID reader and Unity, which we chose as the platform for our game, we started implementing the prototype for the game. The prototype consists out of four parts:
- Interaction with the LEAP Motion
- Interaction with the HTC Vive
- Interaction between LEAP Motion and HTC Vive via Network
- Whole functionality of the game
The game itself has basic functionality only since our focus in this project was on the ways of interaction between different technologies. It is a pure building ground where two players work together to build some basic constructions. One player controls his character via LEAP Motion and Arduino. With RFID tokens they can choose which objects to spawn. These objects are passed to the other player, who can place them on the desired location and build whatever they like.
